Evelyn J. Laporte is a justice on the Supreme Court, 2nd District in New York. She was elected in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2028. Prior to taking the Supreme Court, 2nd District bench, Laporte was a judge for the Kings County Criminal Court and the New York City Civil Court. She was elected to the court in 2004 and took office in 2005.[5][6] Before joining the judiciary, Laporte worked at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. She has also served in the Family Court Office of Legal Affairs, Victim Services, and at the Criminal Justice Agency.
